Van Malsen Jachtbetimmering BV specializes in fully custom woodwork for both the interior and exterior of your yacht. In addition, the company manufactures and supplies oars for rowing sloops and, as an accredited training company, provides opportunities for skilled workers in training.
Yacht joinery
We deliver your yacht in perfect condition, featuring the wood of your choice. Teak, walnut, cherry, or something entirely different? The choice is yours.
Through careful consultation, we gain a clear understanding of your wishes and translate them into a design. Whether it involves a minor repair, a modification, or a completely new interior, we execute the work with care, attending to even the smallest details.
Our experience enables us to provide optimal support in realizing your ideal yacht. We assist you in selecting the model and color scheme, while also offering expert advice on wood types and the vessel’s layout.

Several projects were on the agenda for 2024 and 2025. Among other things, Van Malsen Jachtbetimmering BV created the complete interior for the Enksail Halcyon. This sailing yacht was designed entirely by our partners, the Van Enkhuizen brothers. In addition, we meticulously finished the Globemaster 15 “Lundi” and worked on the AluDutch Cabin, designed by our neighbors at Huisken Watersport.
2023 saw the creation of a magnificent Globemaster 15. With only the bare hull as a blank canvas, the client was free to incorporate the latest, well-conceived features regarding sustainability, ergonomics, style, and comfort. A highly enjoyable collaboration between client and shipyard resulted in the successful creation of a unique vessel.
2022 was dedicated to the further development of Lotus Houseboat No. 3 and a unique project by Willem Nieland Design: the Globemaster 50.
The years 2020 and 2021 were almost entirely focused on the Lotus Houseboat project, culminating in the delivery of the custom-built Lotus Houseboat No. 2. Innovation in propulsion technology and materials was central to this vessel as well.
We also cater to private clients.
For instance, in 2019, we fitted the high-speed pleasure yacht “Mascaret” with a completely lightweight interior.
At the same time, we were hard at work renovating the Super Van Craft “Merlin”.
In 2018, we worked on both a 22-meter Sossego Sport and a Waterdream 65.
In the years prior to 2018, we crafted many fine marine interiors, including those for a v.d. Stadt 49 and the tug/pusher boat “Aegir”.
Commissioned by Gebroeders van Enkhuizen, we handled the interior woodwork for the Noordwaardsloep, the Noordkaper 40 “Svala”, the Noordkaper 43 “Mabetica”, and the Noordkaper 46 “Eva Maria”. We also carried out the interior fit-out for the Wagenborg shipping company’s water taxi, “Fostaborg”.
Teak decks
The deck is the calling card of any vessel. Crafting a teak deck is specialized work. We install solid teak decks directly onto your vessel; we do not use plywood sub-decks or screws with plugs. This makes maintaining your deck significantly easier.
If your teak is still in good condition, we can also re-caulk your deck with new rubber seams. Maintenance is required when rubber seams start to open up or when wet spots remain on the deck after a rain shower.
We would be happy to advise you on the best maintenance for your teak deck. If you simply need a piece of teak, we also sell various types of wood to private customers.
We offer a 10-year warranty on new teak decks.
We offer a 5-year warranty on the caulking.
A new teak deck is not always necessary. In some cases—provided the teak retains sufficient thickness—the deck can simply be re-caulked and sanded. This restores your deck to a like-new appearance and extends its lifespan by several years.
